About Rachael
Hey! My name is Rachael Rydalch. I graduated from Idaho State University with a master’s degree in social work and am licensed as an LMSW. I chose social work because it had such a broad scope within practice that allowed me to learn about many different areas of behavioral health. I chose to focus on mental health counseling because of the amazing experiences I’ve had with providers in the past and profound impact I have seen it make in my life and the life of others. Counseling truly is for everyone and can be whatever you make it. That being said I use a very individualized approach to suit the many different needs of my clients. I like to cultivate a collaborative environment where you as a client always feel safe and seen. Within sessions, I find myself aiding clients with identifying and processing thoughts and emotions while developing effective coping skills. I also help clients discover that the mind has the capacity to be developed and strengthened through intentional practice and reflection. Overall, I hope to remain a present, safe, and understanding presence in my client’s lives to help process, discuss, work through, and reflect on the things they need.
I have been working in the social work field for about 4 years in many different roles such as a CBRS worker and paraprofessional for Developmental Disability Agencies. A care coordinator at Madison Cares to help provide psychosocial education to young kids and get involved within the Rexburg community. And as a mental health counselor in various agencies. I am certified within play therapy and will work with kids ages 11 and up as well as teens and adults.
Despite popular belief therapists are real people! I love to spend my free time playing golf, going on walks, crafting, watching reality TV, and doing hot Pilates. My favorite comfort show is Gilmore Girls, and my favorite food is a good ole fashioned cheeseburger and fries. I am married and live around a lot of family which I prioritize deeply.
I am excited to meet you and help you in any way that I can!
