Telehealth appointments are also offered anywhere in Idaho.

Hello everyone!

I graduated from Liberty University with a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy and have served the Rexburg community in various roles for the past six years. I have a strong passion for helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges in a way that feels right for them.

I believe that everyone deserves to feel happy and healthy, but life can often make that difficult. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing and living happily, so my focus is on understanding your unique needs and working together to help you achieve your goals. In therapy, I aim to provide practical tools for meaningful change and often use emotion-focused and solution-focused approaches. I want to meet you where you are and help you move to where you want to be! I have experience working with anxiety, depression, boundary setting, relationship and family conflicts, and truma.

When I’m not working with clients, I love spending time with my wife and son—whether we’re exploring the outdoors, enjoying a day on the river, or simply reading together at home.

Currently, Jarrod provides therapy for individual and couples

“Hello everyone! My name is Rainey Fernandez. I graduated from Liberty University with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and finishing the final requirements to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. My heart enjoys working with adolescents and women of any age and from any background. However, my deepest passion is to serve others and come alongside them to support, encourage, and collaborate so that they may achieve their goals and the well-being that they desire. By developing skills in interpersonal communication, boundary setting, coping skills, healthy emotional regulation, and identity development, I hope my clients can achieve a life that they feel satisfied and confident in!

I love utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy skills along with an internal family systems informed practice. In sessions, not only do I utilize and practice evidence-based interventions, but I also enjoy implementing client interests and hobbies for a more personalized experience. Through the integration of the client's personality and therapy, I hope that the client will be able to learn and implement the necessary skills to reach their personal goals.

Outside of the office, I love spending time with my daughter and husband through traveling all over the world and bringing the "gotta watch" tv shows. We also love hanging out with our dog, Schnitzel, and our cat, Colonel Corn. I also enjoy fashion, art in any form, and everything coffee.”

“After working, interning and contributing in the field of mental health care and adoption, I graduated with a Masters degree in Social Work from Boise State University. I have worked specifically with adolescents and women of different ages and from various backgrounds, but love assisting anyone who may benefit from my skills, education, experience and clinical approach. “Hello everyone, my name is Jennifer, or Jenn. My in-session priorities are to build a safe and therapeutic relationship space where I can support you as you work hard to reach your goals. My previous experience was as a domestic violence advocate, where I learned to guide clients through difficult relationship crises and worked to foster positive expectations of hope. However, I am open to clients of all types. I plan to build a career as a therapist in the Rexburg area, where I’ve lived on and off since 2004.

I am devoted to becoming better with each session as your therapist, so I’ll continually be learning and growing to find ways to help you become “unstuck” in whatever problems are persisting. Currently, my approach is largely Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, with several other modalities sprinkled in as I learn more. I’m thrilled to be working at Cress Creek Counseling and with you!”

Location: In-person appointments are in Rexburg only.

Telehealth appointments are also offered anywhere in Idaho.

“I graduated with a Master's Degree in Social Work from BYU. I’m a Board Certified DBT therapist. I have 7 years of experience here in Rexburg and 10 years of experience total. My experience is mostly with those that are 16 years of age or older. I have worked extensively with shame, guilt, and anxiety surrounding religion. I have also worked extensively with helping people become more assertive with boundaries.

I’m a firm believer that I’m the expert in the skills and you are the expert in your life. This requires us to work together and hand-tailor an approach that fits you. If you are on the fence about therapy, DO IT! Even if I’m not the best fit for you I will make sure you get set up with someone that will be.”
